Oh, I'm so sorry Nina. I know how much you loved your dad. He will be greatly missed, I'm sure. How incredibly blessed you were to have a father with such a special relationship. Many of us have no clue what that would be like. So, so blessed, you are.

My dear Nina daddy will always live, be sure to talk to him everyday....my cousin use to type letters to her departed daddy, I thought she was crazy, but not anymore, we live forever, he is just in another dimension. My daddy once was clinically gone, he told us he was was in the most beautiful place he had ever seen, he said he didn't want to come back, he said from that day, he has never been afraid of dying,,,,,, I wrap you with love and hugs.

so sorry to hear of his passing...from previous posts, it sounds as though he is at peace now....your story with your father's failing health reminds me of my dad's similar decline. Hugs, positive thoughts, and prayers to you! You have a life time of memories to cherish!

I knew from your last post that it wouldn't be long.
This may not help now, Nina, but there is no doubt in my mind that he's at peace, laughing, celebrating, without age or hurt. I am SO not this type of person, but right after my mom passed in January, she visited me in a dream. It was not an ordinary dream. I'm not certain of a lot of things, but I'm certain of that. I wish everyone could experience the amazement and love I saw. He's there Nina, I'm certain. Peace for you and your family.

So sorry Nina. I remember what it was like when I travelled from NZ to Australia with a newborn to help care for my mum for the last 2 months of her life. I understand the torn emotions - exhaustion, grief, relief that it is finally all over and their suffering has ended, guilt for feeling that way. Thinking of you at this difficult time and wishing for you the strength, peace, rest and support you need to get through this.

Condolences. It hurts so much when a loved one passes on. We miss them so.
But it is only your dad's shell that is gone--it--his body--only housed his spirit, which is what he is. Not was. Because he--that spirit-- still exists. And lives forever.
And I bet he is in that place we call Heaven with the Great Spirit God---Yahweh.
Rejoice--this life is like a vapor, and one day soon you can see him again, to be reunited forevermore.

certainly, peace to you all, rest for the weary. so much will wash over you in the next little while, you'll feel as tumbled as that beautiful sea glass you find. i have been in the very place you are right now. on a friday, even, with my niece's high school graduation the following day. try to write as much as you can...feelings, events, comments...the joyous and the sad....as later, they will all be a blur and you will want so much to remember it all. find joy, seek hope...and may the sun smile on you and yours when you need it most. sending love and hugs...xoxo

I lost my father last summer in a shorter but similar journey - it is still not quite real to me. I hope for you a peaceful walk on the path of grief. . .
