Diana Giambrone

Nina,
Yesterday, I wrote a long comment to you and then lost the entire thing. I wanted to tell that I wish I could run down firefly lane and give you a huge hug! I am so happy I found you again and I hope you will keep writing to all of us out here! Your words, your life with Walter and your art mean so much to us! Please know you are always welcome in my home, in my life and any other way I could have you! xox, Diana

Your new pendants are just beautiful, Nina - I love the mix of silver and glass with the white bead - a perfect wintery look to these pieces.

I look at your work and am in awe of your talent and the beauty of your work. I have admired your art for quite some time but only recently discovered your blog. I want to thank you for your last two posts...reading of your vulnerabilities and frustrations gives courage and strength to others that also feel many of the same things you wrote of, but sometimes feel as if they/we must be the only ones. You are an amazing artist and person and I look forward to "getting to know you" through your words and work...Thank you ♥

i wish you could take a stroll with me through the winter nature. it looks utterly beautiful in here everything glittered with frost and heavy snow.

I love love love your new pendants. They have a perfect wintery feel and yet, each one evokes something so unique because of the word engraved...treasure and wonder would look wonderful in my little corner of the world....well actually, ALL of them would look wonderful in my corner of the world!

The pendants are wonderful, as are all your efforts, jewelry, journals, photographs, your written word. I have been reading for a few years now, I await each new post to see how life is going in your world. I understand how people would want to know how you do what you do, but even if you tell them, it won't be you. You are a one of a kind, as each of us, we are all searching, working, hoping, struggling to find our niche, and you seem to have done that quite well, even with lifes ups and downs. Don't let this change you, just keep doing what you do, the way you do it, and know there are people who are waiting to see what you say and do and accept you just the way you are!

I read your blog, but I don't always comment. I would only be repeating what dozens of others have already said. I guess what I want to convey to you is that, without a doubt you have a God-given ability to make beautiful things...and say beautiful things...and photograph beautiful things. Why you would bother telling the whys and wherefores of how you take a picture is beyond me. What is the saying? imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?...maybe, but I think sometimes it's just plain stealing. Remember - if you give somebody your favorite recipe, that doesn't make them the great cook you are. I, personally, would pay no attention to the outright brassiness of some who would ask you what apps you use to photograph your work. If you ignore them, don't acknowledge them and use that time for you and your wonderful creative gift, it will be better...you'll see. Advice from an old lady.
May your day be full
Hugs

  • Ellen's Eggs
Allow me the pleasure of showcasing my talented sister Ellen's lampwork glass eggs - once you've held them in your hand, you'll be wanting a whole basketful of them.....

  • Cathy Cullis
i find much joy in the words and art and connection with/of my london friend Cathy Cullis; her embroidered artwork, her dolls, her drawings and poetry all make me gasp. go take a look for yourself - you'll see what i mean.
  • Julie Whitmore Pottery
Julie's pottery is whimsical and dear - a true reflection of her beautiful spirit, and i have amassed quite a little collection of cups, tiny plates, a bowl with a robin holding a forget me not in its mouth. be careful, though - her work is addictive!
  • Kate Phillips - painting, vessels
check out kate's beautiful prints, and her really wonderful little torso vessels. kate is from scotland, living in san francisco, and i am beyond smitten with everything she creates...
  • Malaprop's Bookstore/Cafe - Asheville
my favorite bookstore - an independent one, of course, and in downtown asheville. go inside, have a cup of soy chai latte, and browse amongst the extensive collection of poetry, fiction, and art books for as many hours as you can spare...
